Roadworthy Safety Certificates

Our Railway Estate workshop has approved Queensland Safety Certificate mechanics authorised to conduct roadworthy inspections to ensure your vehicle is compliant with state regulations.

Services include:

  • Roadworthy Inspections of passenger, 4wd, light trucks and fleet vehicles.
  • Repair services to meet roadworthy safety standards.
  • Pre-purchase and Pre-sale safety inspections to pinpoint roadworthy requirements.

Roadworthy Inspection Process

  • Verification of registration plate number and chassis number/VIN.
  • Recording of necessary vehicle details such as make, model, chassis/VIN, and odometer reading.
  • Examination of exterior, doors, windows, and bodywork.
  • Testing of all driving controls, including seats, seat belts, mirrors, sun visors, glazing, and forward vision through the windscreen.
  • Inspection of steering linkages, lights, engine, battery, tyres, suspension, wheel bearings, steering components, underbody, chassis, subframes, exhaust, and braking system components.
  • Road test of the vehicle to ensure safe operation, including testing of brakes, steering, clutch, suspension, gear change mechanism, accelerator/throttle control, drive line condition, windscreen wiper/washers, driving position/visibility, exhaust system, speedometer and odometer operation, and on-board control units.
  • A road test is conducted by the Approved Examiner to confirm the safe operation of the vehicle and standards are applied as per the Queensland Light Vehicle Inspection Manual.

Defective Vehicles

If your vehicle fails the Queensland Safety Certificate inspection, the defects are identified and recorded, and recommendations for repairs are provided. After repairs, the vehicle undergoes a re-inspection. Upon passing, a Safety Certificate is issued. Driving without a valid certificate or with known defects can lead to penalties. We can guide and assist you with repairs and re-inspection to ensure vehicle compliance.
